Infection and Spill Control

Gelmax® products are engineered to protect health care personnel from exposure to potentially infectious waste or spills. The pads, pouches and powders are designed to safely collect and dispose of organic liquids:  urine, vomit, blood, or laboratory specimens. They will also help eliminate odors from urine or feces being collected. . Use a super-absorbent pad or pouch to augment the CareBag system to collect additional fluids.  Lay a pouch or sprinkle powder directly on a spill.

Gelmax® Pad is a single-use pad that contains a powder that turns liquids unto a gel for safe containment and disposal. Place the pad into a container of organic liquid. The pad will turn into a gelatinous substance. Each pad can absorb 65-450 times its own weight of water-based liquids.

Gelmax® water soluble pouch can be added to a container with liquids to be absorbed. The outside film will dissolve allowing the powder to absorb the fluid and turn into a gelatinous substance which can be more easily handled for disposal.

Gelmax® Super-Absorbent Powder comes in a plastic bottle ready to be spread directly on the fluid, whether in a container or a spill. Use as much as needed for the volume of spill you need to contain.  The powder will turn into a gel for easier disposal.

All Gelmax® products are for single use. Choose the dispensing method that best suits your application or keep a variety of styles on hand to handle all spills and containment. When the powder is done absorbing it will turn to a gelatinous substance, gather it up, scoop or sweep, and dispose in regular waste. Discard infectious waste according to your facility control guidelines.
